High school is a time to explore—meet new people, try out new things, pursue your interests, and find out what you’re passionate about.
With 50 student clubs, 41 sports teams, 4 performing arts groups, and daily volunteer opportunities, Gonzaga gives students plenty of opportunities to explore.
Our students put on two large-scale theater productions each year and publish a newspaper, yearbook, and literary magazine. School clubs—such as the Model U.N. and Peace Club—often take advantage of our location, blocks from the U.S. Capitol, to hear and learn from lawmakers, policymakers, and other civil servants.
You’ll find Eagles volunteering at the McKenna Center, a drop-in shelter for homeless men on campus, almost every day of the week. Our baseball team mentors kids at the Washington Nationals Baseball Youth Academy in Anacostia—and also plays and practices in the state-of-the-art facility there.
And every morning during homeroom, the whole school watches the “news” on WZAG, a closed-circuit TV station that’s operated by students. It’s a fun window into a school where there’s always something going on.
