Carmody Lynn Open

After 35 years, the Carmody family and Gonzaga recently announced that beginning in the Fall of 2020, this beloved annual tournament will be renamed the Carmody Lynn Open, in honor of both Kevin Carmody '62 and Michael Lynn '94.
On this page, you will find details about the tournament itself, which will take place on Friday, October 16 at P.B. Dye and Worthington Manor golf courses. In addition to the new name, the event will undergo several significant changes this year to meet social distancing guidelines and ensure the safety of our golfers and volunteers. We are also excited to offer--for the first time--the opportunity for alumni and friends who cannot join us in person to create their own foursome and play at a course of their choice.
"Mike loved Gonzaga and cherished his four years on Eye Street with his teachers, classmates, and teammates. Always a leader, he inspired everyone he met with his contagious smile, dedication to his faith, and tireless work ethic. Even though we will always miss Mike we are so thankful to have his name associated with this prestigious event to remind everyone of Mike's generosity and selflessness."

Due to the pandemic, we will follow specific guidelines to allow all golfers to participate in a safe environment.

Note: If you're interested in volunteering for this year's event, please email Jennifer Doherty.

Tournament Details:
  • All golfers are responsible for putting together their foursomes. Gonzaga will not pair golfers together. If registering individually, please submit your foursome to Jennifer Doherty ( after all four golfers have registered.
  • Golfers will receive their course and tee assignments before October 16th. Golfers should go directly to their assigned course for a shotgun start at 10 AM. The golf pros will direct you where to go.
  • Each foursome will have two carts. You may ride together if you are comfortable or two golfers can walk while two golfers use the carts.
  • Registration includes golf, beverages, lunch and snacks on course. Registration also allows you to compete in all contests on the course. Your Carmody Lynn Open golf shirt will be mailed to you before the event.
  • 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold online.
  • A virtual reception will take place at 6pm to announce the winners of the tournament and the 50/50 raffle

If you are unable to join us in person this year, find a course near you and play with fellow Gonzaga grads, family, or friends. If you register as a virtual golfer, we will send you a Carmody Lynn Open golf shirt for you to wear that day. Make sure to snap a photo of your group and send it to us for the Carmody Lynn Open 2020 slideshow.
