Headmaster's Welcome

A saying often attributed to St. Ignatius Loyola is, “Act as if everything depended on you; trust as if everything depended on God."
At Gonzaga, this philosophy permeates every aspect of our school, making it a place where students not only receive an exceptional education rooted in faith but also learn the invaluable skill of self-advocacy.

Gonzaga is more than just an educational institution; it is a tight-knit community of believers guided by God and devoted to one another. We stand firmly rooted in rich traditions and unwavering faith, where prayer and service hold equal importance to all other facets of life. Within this community, the spirit of hard work prevails, as demonstrated by our dedicated alumni who generously contribute their time, resources, and talents. Our parents tirelessly plan and execute countless activities and events, often spending more time at Gonzaga than at home. Our exceptional faculty, coaches, and staff go above and beyond to mold minds, strengthen bodies, and warm hearts. They work to keep our school beautiful and our students safe.

At Gonzaga, our collective effort is driven by a profound purpose: the development and well-being of our greatest asset, the young men of our school. Our motivation is not to create wealth or fame, secure college admissions, or earn accolades; rather, we work tirelessly for God's greater glory. We do this so that our students—our children—may enter the world and both be the face of Christ for and see the face of Christ in every person they encounter. That alone is our measure of success. For the four years a student is on Eye Street, we all work as if the outcome depends upon us, but we all trust and pray that God is guiding our actions in all that we do. How else can one explain the indelible and everlasting Gonzaga spirit?

My greatest hope is for the Gonzaga spirit to continue flourishing, as we unite in our efforts to make Gonzaga College High School the best version of itself. Furthermore, we remain committed to Gonzaga's mission of nurturing young men who are open to growth, intellectually competent, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice. I consider it a tremendous blessing to be part of this magnificent endeavor alongside each and every one of you.

Sincerely,

Mr. Thomas K. Every II
