Wrestling Wins DCSAA Championship

Wrestling captured its third consecutive DC championship this week by winning the DCSAA State Title (last year the tournament wasn't held however the Eagles won the DC Independent State Title). In the DCSAA State Title competition, the team finished in first place with 202 team points, over runner-up Jackson Reed at 176.  We had three individual state champions in addition to three other finalists.

Our state champions were Connor Meeker '27 (106 lbs), Bo Sulc '26 (165 lbs), and Matt Van Sice '25 (157 lbs); all three Eagles qualified for National Preps. Ryu Johnson '25 (190 lbs) and Haitham Kyrim '25 (175 lbs) both finished as finalists and also qualified for National Preps. Jethro Ward '26 (138 lbs) also finished as a finalist. “We only had two guys that were top-two seeds and ended up with six guys in the finals, so that was a testament to the teamwork and full team effort,” Head Coach Reggie Snowden told the Washington Post said. “They represented themselves with some pride today.”
