Basketball Heads Into Final Stretch

Gonzaga Basketball had an action-packed week this week, leading into their final game of the season before the playoffs.

On Sunday, February 12, Gonzaga defeated Bishop O'Connell 81-80 with a thrilling buzzer-beater. The Eagles trailed by 11 with less than 90 seconds left in the fourth quarter. With 10.1 seconds left on the clock, Gonzaga had fought all the way back to make the score 80-78. Ryan Sabol '23 drove down the court and found Will Harper '25 for a corner three in front of a packed crowd in the Carmody Center!
On Tuesday, February 14, the team celebrated the Class of 2023 ahead of another WCAC matchup against Archbishop Carroll. The Eagles came away with a big win -- 88-43.   Two nights later, the Eagles fell to St. John's in the Carmody Center, 51-46. After getting off to a hot start, Gonzaga led by double digits early in the fourth quarter, but the Cadets fought back to earn the win. The team is now 22-6 overall and 8-5 in WCAC play.

Next up, Gonzaga will face Bishop McNamara on Saturday in their last regular season game of the year. You can follow Gonzaga Basketball on Instagram and Twitter.
