Cross Country Finishes 3rd in Skip Grant Invitational

On Saturday, October 22 the Cross Country team raced on a hilly course at Agricultural Farm Park in Derwood, MD. This challenging course hosted the MD-DC private schools championship from 2008 through 2015, and was used for the US national cross country championships in 2008.

The team fared well, finishing in 3rd place; only a few points separated Gonzaga form DeMatha, which forecasts a competitive WCAC championship next week.

Lucas Rohde '24 led the way for the Eagles in 16:19, finishing in 3rd place and earning a medal.  His time ranks 8th on the Gonzaga all-time list for the course.  Matt Podratsky '25 medaled, finishing in 7th with 17:08.  Other Gonzaga scorers were Liam Thomson '23 (17th), Will Buckley '25 (22nd), and Tim Barloon '23 (37th).

Next up, Cross Country will compete in the WCAC Championship, Saturday, October 29th, at the Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens. You can find the entire schedule here.

Go Eagles!
