Swimming and Diving Starts Strong in New Year

Gonzaga Swim & Dive returned to the pool after a long winter break. They started off their 2022 campaign by defeating Georgetown Prep 119-64 on Saturday, January 8th. The following Tuesday, January 11th, Gonzaga took down St. Stephen’s St. Agnes 152-31.   

Gonzaga took 1st place in 11 of 12 events. 

Highlights: 
  • Aiden Bond ‘23 & Ethan Dounda ‘22 took 1st and 2nd in the 50 yard Freestyle clocking in at 22.06 & 22.24. 
  • John Mann ‘25 took 1st place in the boys 1mtr dive with a final score of 153.35.
  • Aiden Bond’23, Trent Badrak ‘23, Malcolm Mckenzie ‘24, & Ethan Dounda ‘22  defeated Georgetown prep by .73 seconds in the Boys 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1.31.08  
Next up, the Eagles will head to Loyola University (MD) on Saturday, January 15th to participate in Catholic Nationals.
