Basketball Beats DeMatha, Keeps Top Spot

On Tuesday, January 11th Gonzaga squared off against DeMatha Catholic. Gonzaga and DeMatha came into this game ranked  #1 & #2 in the area. The Eagles started off hot and never looked back. Gonzaga began the game with a 22-8 run and never took their foot off the gas. The lead would get up as high as 41-18 in the 2nd quarter. DeMatha did not flounder and would fight back to cut the lead to 12 in the fourth quarter, but it would not be enough. The Eagles won the first matchup of the season, 87-73. We asked Coach Turner his thoughts on this year's team: “It’s been great watching us thus far this season, we are playing great team ball. The team has never been a one trick pony. For me it has been fun to watch us be the sum of our parts.”
