Fall 2021 Sports Schedules Released
After a year-long hiatus on league competition, the Gonzaga Athletic Department is thrilled to announce that the fall 2021 sports schedules have been released.
Make plans to be back on Eye Street for Gonzaga's 133rd season of football! On Friday, September 10 the Eagles will take on St. Mary's Ryken at 6:30pm to kickoff Reunion Weekend: for more information and to register for Reunions for the Classes of ‘76, ‘81, ‘86, ‘91, ‘96, ‘01, ‘06, ‘11, and ‘16, please click here. And for more information and to register for Golden Reunions for the Classes ‘50, ‘51, ‘55, ‘56, ‘60, ‘61, ‘65, and ‘66, please click here. Additionally, the St. John's game on Friday, November 6 at 6:30pm will be the 100th meeting of the modern era between the oldest high school football rivals in the nation! Gonzaga Soccer won both the WCAC and DCSAA Championships in 2019, and is looking forward to getting back on the pitch this fall! The season opener is an away game at McNamara on Tuesday, August 31 and the home opener is scheduled for Thursday, September 2 against DC International under the lights on Buchanan Field. The Eagles will face the Landon School in a 7pm game on Friday, September 17. The following week, the team will make the trip to Colorado for the annual Jesuit Soccer Classic. And Senior Day is slated for October 14 versus Carroll. To see the full soccer season, please click here.
The Cross Country Eagles will have trained all summer and for the first four weeks of school before the first meet of the season on Saturday, September 18. In 2019, the team had another strong season under NFHS Mideast Section Coach of the Year John Ausema, and is looking forward to getting back on the trails as one of the strongest programs on the East Coast. After four meets in September and October, the WCAC Championships open the final stretch of the season on Saturday, October 30 with the DCSAA Championships following a week later on Saturday, November 6. And the season will close with two national competitions on the final two Saturdays in November. To see the full cross country season, please click here.
Gonzaga Water Polo looks forward to getting back in the water this full with a full slate of competitions. In 2019, the varsity Water Polo Eagles kicked off the season with solid wins. This year's season starts on 8/28 against Navy AC Invitational! We'll keep it rolling with Beast of the East in September and round out the season in early November at the Eastern Championships.
