Model UN Performs Well at WAMUNC

Gonzaga's Model UN team took home ten awards -- including two "Best Delegation" gavels -- at WAMUNC, held virtually by George Washington University last weekend. Issues discussed at the conference included climate, refugees, LGBT issues, disarmament, and COVID-19. Historical simulations included the Partition of India and the Suez Crisis.

Congratulations to the following students, who all won awards:
  • Matias Camp '22
  • August van Geertruyden '23
  • Andrew Lenard '24
  • Guyer Kopplin '22
  • Charlie Meyer '22
  • Tyler Kaczmarek '22
  • James Miller '22
  • Joe Campione '24
  • Zach Taylor '23
  • Pedro Da Silveira '21

This is the team's last competition this year, though they will be holding one more internal debate to help prepare for next year. "It's been an interesting season full of challenges, but the boys have risen above," says faculty moderator Mr. Carl Cardozo.
