Basketball Beats McNamara, Set to Play in Hoophall Classic
The Varsity Basketball Eagles are now 12-5 on the season with a 5-3 mark in WCAC play. The team is one of four WCAC squads to be ranked in the ESPN Top 25:
This week, the Eagles took a hard fought loss to DeMatha on January 13, 70-67. The team was led by senior point guard Chuck Harris who scored 24 points, but it was not enough to beat the Stags after leading for much of the game. Click here to see highlights.
On January 15, however, the team traveled to McNamara and avenged last year's road loss to the Mustangs with a 70-55 victory. The Eagles led by just five points heading into the fourth quarter, but Coach Turner's team held the home team to just 4 points in the final frame to claim the decisive win. Next up for the team is another national matchup. The Eagles are in Springfield, MA at the Basketball Hall of Fame to participate in the annual Hoophall Classic where they will take on La Lumiere (IN) at Springfield College on January 18 at 3 PM. You can watch the game live online on ESPN 3.
