Model UN Team Wins Big at Wooten High School

Gonzaga's Model UN Team won ten awards —including three coveted Best Delegation Gavels—at the Wooten High School Model UN (WHSMUN) in Rockville last weekend.

Thirty-three Gonzaga students participated in the two-day debate. Congratulations to Timmy Shaheen '21, Josh Maggiano '21, and Tyler Kaczmarek '22, who all earned gavels; congratulations also to award winners James Miller '22, Matthew Dowd '22, Benji Garland '23, Ted LeGloahec '23, Ben Szalankiewicz '20, and Kevin Reese '23.

"It goes without saying that Coach Metcalf and I are extremely proud of these guys,” said faculty co-moderator Mr. Carl Cardozo. “Their hard work and dedication has turned the Model UN Team into a serious contender!”
