Symphonic Winds Receives Highest Rating at WAMTC Fall Band Festival

Congratulations to the Symphonic Winds Ensemble which, for the fourth year out of the past five, received the highest rating of “Superior” at the Washington Archdiocesan Music Teachers Council Fall Band Festival on December 1st at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School.

During the competition, The Symphonic Winds Ensemble performed a number of selections which were graded by three judges based on qualities such as tone, intonation, balance, musicality, technique, appearance, and discipline.

“The boys played well, but their demeanor and how they presented themselves was exemplar,” says David Smith, Gonzaga Fine Arts Teacher. “I couldn’t be prouder of them!”

Congratulations to all of the musicians!
