News of Alumni: Joe Ralston ‘88

Kensington resident and Gonzaga alum Joe Ralston ’88 saved a man from his burning sailboat in the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 8.

According to an article in the Baltimore Sun, Ralston was staying at his mother’s house on the South River when he was awakened by a bright light shining through his window at 2:40 a.m. “I just remember thinking, ‘I just gotta get there,’ ” Ralston told the Baltimore Sun.

Ralston boarded his fishing boat and motored out towards the blaze, where he was able to pull the man from the sailboat out of the water and onto his boat.
