  • You attend a Catholic grade school in Maryland or D.C.

If you attend a Catholic grade school in Maryland or D.C., you’ll take the High School Placement Test along with your class. You’ll also be given the Archdiocesan High School application card at school, and you’ll need to list Gonzaga as one of your choices. Your grade school will then send us teacher recommendations, your High School Placement Test scores, and your 7th and 8th grade transcripts. Note that you do not use the teacher recommendation form that is in the admissions packet – your school completes the recommendations using a standard form for all students.
  • You attend a Catholic grade school in Virginia

1.) If you attend a Virginia Catholic grade school, Gonzaga requires the High School Placement Test, which will be given at your school. In selecting the schools you wish to receive your test results, make sure that you list your Virginia school choices before Gonzaga. 2.) Then, your parent or guardian should sign and send the Records Request Form to your grade school. Your elementary school will send standardized test results, attendance records, disciplinary actions, and if applicable, copies of personal evaluations or psychological reports directly to Gonzaga. 3.) Choose two teachers (English, science, math, or history) from your school to fill out the Recommendation Form on your behalf. The teachers should mail their recommendation directly to Gonzaga.
  • You attend a non-Catholic grade school

1.) You will need to take the High School Placement Test, which is given at a variety of sites in the Metro area. Please visit www.CatholicSchoolsWork.org then click on "High Schools" for information on how to take the test. Make sure you list Gonzaga among the schools you wish to receive your scores. 2.) Your parent or guardian should sign and send the Records Request Form to your grade school. Your elementary school will send standardized test results, attendance records, disciplinary actions, and, if applicable, copies of personal evaluations or psychological reports directly to Gonzaga. 3.) Choose two teachers (English, science, math, or history) from your school to fill out the Recommendation Form on your behalf. The teachers should mail their recommendation directly to Gonzaga.
  • You are applying to transfer from another high school

Note that Gonzaga does not accept mid-year transfers. Gonzaga also does not accept transfers into senior year unless you are applying from a fellow Jesuit high school from out of the area. There is no application deadline per se for transfer students. However, applications received before the Christmas break will receive first consideration for any possible openings.

1.) Your parent or guardian should sign and send the Records Request Form to your current school. They should send the previous year's final grades as well as the current year's most recent grades, along with standardized test results, attendance records, disciplinary actions, and if applicable, copies or personal evaluations or psychological reports directly to Gonzaga. 2.) Choose two teachers (English, science, math, or history) from your school to fill out the Recommendation Form on your behalf. The teachers should mail their recommendation directly to Gonzaga.
