Football Beats Dunbar, Will Face Loyola Next

Gonzaga Football defeated defending the 2024 DCSAA AA Champion Dunbar Crimson Tide on Friday, September 5 in front of another packed stadium on Eye Street. The Eagles dominated from start to finish to win 50-16.

On offense, standout performances were put in by wide receiver Lincoln Shelton '27 and tight end Brayden Marko '26. Defensively, linebacker Billy Matan '26 led the way and corner back Jackson Waddy '28 returned a second quarter interception for a touchdown. On special teams, linebacker Jack Cookson '26 made three tackles while kicker Coleman Hammond '29 made a 31 yard field goal and all six of his extra points.
