Gonzaga to Dedicate Joe Reyda '85 Stadium on Reunion Weekend

Gonzaga will host a dedication ceremony on Saturday, October 25 to unveil the newly named Joe Reyda ‘85 Stadium -- naming Gonzaga’s stadium in honor of our longtime former Athletic Director. A man of deep faith and devotion to his family, Joe was committed not only to success on the field but also to each student’s academic, spiritual, and personal growth.

In recognition of his loyalty and dedication to Gonzaga and its Jesuit mission, the Class of 1985—together with Joe’s family and many friends—has taken the lead in honoring his legacy. They have set a goal of raising $5 million in Joe’s name, with gifts supporting two causes he cared deeply about: tuition assistance for deserving families through the Joseph Reyda ’85 Endowed Fund and capital improvement projects on Eye Street related to athletics. Gifts made on this page will be divided evenly between these two purposes, ensuring support for both Gonzaga students and our Eye Street home for generations to come.

The Joe Reyda ’85 Stadium will be dedicated on the occasion of the Class of 1985’s 40th reunion -- meaning that all future athletic events will be held on Buchanan Field at Reyda Stadium. Everyone in the Gonzaga community is warmly invited to join us on this special day to honor a true Gonzaga man and a quiet but forceful champion for our athletic program.

The Eagles will face off on Buchanan Field against Good Counsel at 2 p.m. During halftime, we will hold the official stadium dedication ceremony. After the game, we look forward to celebrating the reunions of the Classes of 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020 (click here to register to attend).
