Basketball Beats O’Connell in Overtime
On Friday, February 4th Gonzaga hosted Bishop O’Connell in the Carmody Center. Coming into the game Bishop O’Connell was ranked 3rd in the WCAC with a 6-2 record. Gonzaga was ranked 4th with a record of 6-3.
At halftime O’Connell led 26-23. Neither team was able to take a commanding charge of the game and there were multiple lead changes. Gonzaga trailed 61-55 with 1:44 left on the clock. The Eagles would respond with its own 8-0 run to end regulation.

O’Connell scored to tie the game at 63-63 to force overtime. Gonzaga proceeded to shut out O'Connell in overtime and win 69-63. Coach Turner's team is now 8-4 in the WCAC with a 14-5 overall record. Next up, the team will play St. John's on Sunday, February 13th on Military Road.
