Soccer Wins DCSAA Championship
The Varsity Soccer team defeated St. Albans on Saturday, November 11 at Georgetown University to claim the DCSAA title. The win capped off a historic season for the team, which for the first time won the DCSAA title, the WCAC Championship, and the Jesuit Classic tournament all in one season.
Down 1-0 late in the second half, the Eagles tied it to force penalty kicks and win 5-4 in dramatic fashion. Below are some great photos from the game, as well as a video that features the game-winning penalty kick.
“We just had to keep playing the way we were playing,” Coach Scott Waller told the Washington Post, emphasizing his team’s possession of the ball throughout the game. “We knew it’d be tough, so we just did the best we could.”
