Gonzaga fields three rugby teams - Varsity Purple, Varsity Black (developmental varsity team), and a Freshman/Sophomore team. Gonzaga Rugby's season begins in February and runs through May. Varsity Purple has been one of the most successful rugby teams in the country for well over a decade, with the team winning six national championships since 2014.

The 2026 Eagles look forward to once again playing one of the most competitive schedules in the country, with nationally ranked Top 25 teams throughout the schedule.
