Caleb Williams '21 Celebrates Journey of Brotherhood, Makes College Choice

On July 4, senior quarterback Caleb Williams made his verbal committment to study and play at the University of Oklahoma in the fall of 2021. Leading up to Independance Day, Gonzaga pre-recorded a Zoom call to celebrate Caleb's journey of brotherhood on Eye Street so far. The call included two coaches, thirteen Gonzaga Football alumni, and six current Eagles. The Washington Post wrote, "before his announcement, Gonzaga used Facebook Live to broadcast a video conversation led by Coach Randy Trivers. Williams was emotional as his teammates explained in four words or less what it was like to play with him." The stream included an eight minute slideshow ahead of the 9 PM start time. At 9 PM, the Zoom Call celebration began and counted down to the premiere of the video announcing Caleb's choice. Here is the stream in its entirety:

"This announcement was awesome and it was also a sigh of relief. I've been recruited for football for four years now, since freshman year. I'm grateful for all the blessings and everything I've had," Williams told Sports Illustrated. Here is the short video that was produced by RaffertyWeiss media with Matt Gannon '18:

The video above aired live on national tv via CBS Sports HQ in conjunction with live interviews of Caleb before and after the announcement. Here is a short video from earlier this week by the network recapping Caleb's recent recognition as the top QB recruit in the nation:

Congratulations Caleb, we are proud of you!
