Sophomore Retreats—Enjoy the Photos!

Over 175 sophomores elected to make a retreat this fall with other members of their homerooms. On the sophomore retreat, teams of senior and junior leaders call those on the retreat to examine how to make more of their year. After hearing from leaders about the demands of the principles of the Grad at Grad statement, the sophomores identified one area in which to dedicate additional effort. They carry that intention into a prayer boot camp that helps students to slow down and bring themselves to prayer.

The retreats will be followed up in November with an opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation as part of their religion classes. Those who participate come back saying that they feel closer to God, closer to classmates, and ready to bring more of themselves to all they do. Below are some quotes from student reflections written after the retreat:

“I have learned how to help myself when I am struggling.”

“I learned many new ways to communicate with God and how his relationship with me affects my daily life.”

"I will take home the growth with my friends and will use the new forms of prayer we learned."
