Track Wins Private Schools Invitational, DCSAAs Up Next

Indoor Track scored 92 points to take home the first place team trophy at the Private Schools Invitational on February 4. The Eagles finished ahead of Loyola Blakefield (76 points), Georgetown Prep (68 points), and sixteen other teams. Over the fifteen scored events, Gonzaga got contributions from all areas of the team. Second year head coach Conrad Singh '00 said, "It really was a total team effort. From sprints and hurdles to distance and relays, we had a great day on the track. Additionally, we had a strong day in the field, scoring crucial points with our throws and jumps."

The team's individual gold medal winner was Kainoa Winston '25 who won the 55m dash with a time of 6.47 and the 300m dash with a time of 36.15. The 4x200 relay team of Winston, Mason Green '24, Brendan Lee '23, and Lincoln Fisher '23 won gold with a time of 1:33.67. Bronze medal winners included hurdler John Dearie '24, high jumper Markeith Hogan '23, shot putter Richard Scott '23, and the 4x400 relay team of Daniel Lee '26, Calvin Timm '25, Samuel Terry '25, and Colin Crowe '25. Next up for the team is the DCSAA Championship on Tuesday, February 14 at the PG Sports & Learning Complex at 10 AM. And then the team will be right back at Georgetown Prep in Bethesda, MD on Friday, February 17 for the Jesuit Invitational at 4 PM. Spectators will be allowed at both events.
