Hockey Starts Season 2-0, DeMatha Friday
V1 Hockey kicked off its 2023-24 campaign as they defeated DeMatha 8-0 on Gonzaga's new temporary home ice, Tucker Road. The following Tuesday, November 7, the Eagles defeated St. John's 8-5 at Rockville Ice Arena to begin the season 2-0.
Following the 2-0 start, the Hockey program held its annual Dominik Pettey '15 Memorial Purple White Game. The Purple White game is part of an annual effort to raise money for Dominik Pettey ‘15 Scholarship Fund at Gonzaga. Dominik, whose #11 was retired by Gonzaga Hockey after his tragic death in 2014, embodied the spirit of Gonzaga, and the fund in his name is both a way to honor his memory and a testament to how many people’s lives he touched.
Below are some photos from this year's Purple White Game and many thanks to all who contributed to the fund in a banner year of support. Although the campaign has ended, you can still
make a gift to the fund in Dom's name on this page.
