Hockey Sweeps St. Joe's Prep over Thanksgiving Holiday Trip

Gonzaga Hockey made its annual trip to Philadelphia, PA over Thanksgiving weekend to face Jesuit rival St. Joe’s Prep. All three Eagles squads faced the Hawks at the University of Pennsylvania Class of 1923 Rink on Friday, November 27. The JV won 6-0 to start the day and then V1 defeated Prep’s top team 2-1. V2 pulled off the sweep with a 3-1 win to finish the day.

The V1 win was a tight game from start to finish as both goalies made big saves throughout -- Parker Amacio '27 was the Eagles' net minder. Gonzaga’s offense broke through in the final five minutes with goals by Spencer Schmid ’27 and Timmy Thomas ’28. Brendan Jacobs ’27 had an assist.

Next up, the V1 Eagles will face Landon on Friday, December 5 at 6:10pm at the Rockville Ice Arena. Click here to follow the program on Instagram, and here to see the full V1 schedule.
