National Honor Society Welcomes New Members

On Thursday, April 24, Gonzaga's chapter of the National Honor Society held a ceremony to induct 115 new members. All of the inductees have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher and have also exhibited excellence in scholarship, leadership, character, and service during their tenure at Gonzaga.

The ceremony featured remarks by the four seniors who have served as NHS officers this school year:
Will Decker '25, Anderson Bishop '25, Kai Jones '25, and Matt Podratsky '25.

In addition, a keynote speech was given by Mr. Ed Donnellan. Mr. Donnellan was recently awarded the 2025 Mary K. Bonstell Tachau Teacher of the Year award by the Organization of American Historians. In his talk, he challenged the new inductees to live out the pillars of NHS: character, leadership, scholarship, and service. He spoke of the work of some of his past students who have exemplified these ideals.

After the keynote speech, Will Decker '25 inducted the new members. Please see the ceremony program for the full list of inductees below:

The National Honor Society is a national organization established to recognize exceptional high school students. All members of the Gonzaga chapter are expected to maintain their academic standing and serve as mentors to underclassmen. Congratulations to all!
