Soccer Returns from Jesuit Classic, Beats Ryken at Home
Soccer beat Regis (CO) 2–0 and tied Marquette (WI) 2–2 to go 1-0-1 in the Jesuit Soccer Classic held in Kansas City, MO, last week. "Although the heat was a factor and we had a few other challenges on the trip, I'm really proud of the way we stayed together against really good competition," said head coach Scott Waller.
After returning from the trip, and with rain in the forecast early in the week, the Eagles prepared for St. Mary's Ryken, their next WCAC opponent. On Tuesday, September 22, the Eagles dominated the Knights from start to finish to come away with a 9–0 win in the rain on Buchanan Field.
The team is now 6-2-1 on the season and 3–0 in conference play.
Next week, Gonzaga will travel to play Georgetown Day School on Tuesday, September 29 at 4:30 pm, and will host Paul VI under the lights on Buchanan Field on Thursday, October 1 at 7:00 pm. To see the full schedule, click here.
