Basketball Beats Carroll, Spalding, Good Counsel and McNamara
Basketballis 14-5 overall, 3-2 in WCAC play, and on a four game winning streak. The team is now ranked #10 in the area. "New-look Gonzaga makes its rankings debut... The week started off with a big win over a tough Archbishop Carroll team at home. The Eagles played great defense to limit the Lions' high-powered offense to earn the 70-57 win, Coach Urgo's first in league play. Next, the team beat Archbishop Spalding 74-56 in the Capitol Hoops Classic on Sunday, January 11. The team was led by Dave Mbuyamba '28 and Allen Mbuyamba '26. Here's a great dunk by Allen:
On Tuesday, January 13, the Eagles came away with a hard fought win at Good Counsel, 68-66. And on Thursday, the team dominated Bishop McNamara from wire to wire to earn a 78-60 victory. Here are some highlights from the big win:
