Sarro '27 Sets School Record at the Great American XC Championship
Cross Country competed in the Great American XC Championship on Saturday, October 3 in Cary, NC. The meet features nationally ranked teams from Louisiana to Florida to Connecticut and everywhere in between each year. Gonzaga finished in 16th place out of 40 teams in the Race of Champions. Anthony Sarro '27 finished in 7th place overall with a school record on the course at 15:02, breaking the previous mark set by all-American and nationals qualifier Mike Crozier '12 in 2011. Sarro's time is also the second fastest in school history for any course - just behind Patrick Donnelly '21. Other top Gonzaga finishers were captains Kai Rock '26 (16:01) and Ian Catanzano '26 (16:22).
In the Varsity B race, our top finishers were Stewart Buckley '27 (17:38), Nolan Culligan '29 (18:13) and Jack Stickles '29 (18:18). Click here for complete results.
