GFC Presents Awards at the DC Classic

At the DC Classic last weekend, the Gonzaga Fathers Club presented three different awards to members of the community who exemplify the ideals of the tournament, which raises money for Gonzaga's service programs.

Named in honor of the well-known Jesuit priest, the Father Pedro Arrupe Service Award recognizes a Gonzaga graduate who has lived his life in service to others. This year's award went to Mr. Conrad Singh '00, Gonzaga's Manager of Digital Media and Multimedia Production. Conrad is also an assistant varsity football coach and the head track and field coach.

The Mike Kelleher Scholar-Athlete Award is presented to a Gonzaga senior who excels in academics, sports and service and, as such, exemplifies the spirit of men for others that is so much a part of Gonzaga. This year's award was presented to Patrick McMahon '22.

Finally, the John McLaughlin Award -- named in honor of the Classic's longtime Chairman -- is presented annually to a volunteer who has made significant contributions to the tournament. This year's award went to Jim Hanagan '66, who has been volunteering with the DC Classic since 2013.
