The Gonzaga Mock Trial team won several awards competing in a Virginia state tournament last weekend.
Joseph Kim '21 and Eamon Passey '21 were recognized as best attorneys in their respective rounds while Chris Bunn '22, Michael Tobin '21, and Will Buffaloe '21 each received individual recognition for their performance as attorneys in individual rounds as well. August van Geertruyden '23 and Pedro da Silveira '21 were also recognized as best witnesses in individual rounds.
In addition, Pedro da Silveira '21 was honored with tournament awards for second-best prosecution witness and second-best defense witness in the state--the first two tournament awards ever awarded to the Gonzaga Mock Trial team.
"In only its third season, the students on this team have come a very long way in their understanding and practice of various forms of law, courtroom proceedings, and the ins-and-outs of the Mock Trial competitive world," said Patrick Sullivan, Religion Teacher and Mock Trial Club Moderator. "I know I speak on behalf of Kathryn Vaughn, the Mock Trial co-moderator, when I express how proud I am of these talented, dedicated, and creative young men."
Congratulations to the entire team!
