Hockey Beats Prep, Gearing Up for More Home MAPHL Action

The V1 hockey Eagles defeated the Little Hoyas on Wednesday, January 9 at Fort Dupont Ice Arena.  Gonzaga led 4-0 in the third period before allowing Gerogetown Prep to get on the board to make the final 4-1.

The Eagles were up 1-0 after the first period behind an unassisted goal from Robbie Dubay '20.  In the second period, two juniors hooked up as Farrell Dinn found the back of the net after a great assist from Luca Docking. Later in the period, senior Jackson Massey found sophomore Ethan Baxley whose blast screamed past the Prep goalie to push the lead to three. The final score of the day for the home team was scored by Kurt Bruun midway through the final period.

Next up for the defending MAPHL A Champs is more league action at Ft. Dupont: Friday, January 11 vs Mount St. Joe's and Wednesday, January 16 vs DeMatha.

Go Gonzaga!
