Gonzaga College High School and the Gonzaga Hockey Program Boosters are proud to announce the 30th Anniversary National Capital Hockey Tournament, on December 27-29, 2024, in Washington, DC. Known as the Purple Puck, the National Capital Hockey Tournament is the longest running high school hockey tournament on the East Coast and one of the premier prep hockey tournaments in the United States, drawing teams from across the US and Canada.
This year we celebrate our 30th Anniversary and it promises to be the biggest, most competitive tournament in our history. In addition to competitive hockey against state champion-level teams from across the country, the Purple Puck also presents an amazing opportunity for your students to visit Washington, DC, and experience our Nation’s Capital.

Tournament Details:
- What: 30th Annual National Capital Hockey Tournament (The Purple Puck)
- When: December 27-29, 2024
- Where: The St. James Sports Performance Center, 6805 Industrial Road, Springfield, VA 22151
- Divisions: High School Prep and High School Varsity. Maximum 8 teams per division.
- Format: 3-game round-robin, Semifinal/Consolation Round, and Championship, 4-game guarantee, 5 game maximum
- Cost: $1,500.00 per team
