A day retreat for registered sophomores engages the boys in an opportunity to deepen their friendships with classmates and reflect on how they can make the most of their sophomore year. The Grad at Grad statement and introductions to prayer are the heart of this on campus retreat.
The Common Application/ Naviance Workshops will cover information instructing students in how to navigate their Navinace account - how to build and eventually create their college list, how to complete the FERPA authorization and how to navigate useful data when creating a college list.
The Workshop will also complement the work from this past summer’s six virtual Common Application workshops. It will allow Gonzaga seniors to speak one on one with a Gonzaga College Counselor as they work on their applications.
Please join the Gonzaga Mothers and Fathers Clubs for their joint GMC/GFC meeting. Speakers will include Fr. Stephen Planning with a school update, Dr. Stephen Szolosi to discuss Campus Ministry opportunities for the boys and families, and the Gonzaga counselors will talk about their role at Gonzaga, trends they are seeing with the boys, and ways that parents can help their sons navigate the next months of uncertainty. Ms. Meaghan Tracey will share a brief presentation and then spend some time answering questions.
A Night to Check-in with Juniors and their Parents in the Fall of Junior Year
Technically, the college counseling conversation starts in January of a student's junior year. However, Gonzaga’s College Counseling Office (CCO) would like to have an evening to“check in” via Zoomwith juniors and their parents in the fall of their junior year to explain what to expect, answer any questions, and assuage any concerns that are associated with the college admission process.
After 35 years, the Carmody family and Gonzaga recently announced that beginning in the Fall of 2020, this beloved annual tournament will be renamed the Carmody Lynn Open, in honor of both Kevin Carmody '62 and Michael Lynn '94.
In addition to the name change, we will be making significant changes to the event itself--which is scheduled for Friday, October 16--to ensure that we follow social distancing guidelines and keep all of our golfers and volunteers safe. One exciting new option for alumni and friends who cannot join us in person is the ability to create their own foursome and play at a course of their choice. For more information about these changes, and to register to play or become a sponsor, click here. To read more about Michael Lynn and his legacy, click here.
