Head Coach Randy Trivers completed his seventh year of coaching at Gonzaga during the 2020-21 school year. Trivers was named the USA Today National and Washington DC Coach of the Year in 2018 as well as WCAC Coach of the Year and USA Today’s Washington DC Coach of the Year in 2015.
The 2021 Spring season was one to remember for Gonzaga Football. The Eagles finished 5-0 by defeating DeMatha, Good Counsel, St. Mary's Ryken, Avalon, and St. John's. After preparing for 13 months amidst health restrictions and various challenges, the Eagles were able to stay together and stay healthy throughout the abbreviated season. The program also competed in four developmental games during the spring, going 3-1 in those games. 19 Class of 2021 Eagles were honored before the 99th Game versus St. John's on April 15. Senior linebacker Trey Jamison (Navy) was named DC Gatorade Player of the Year and DC Touchdown Club Player of the Year. Senior defensive back Kye Holmes (James Madison) was honored as the Maus Collins MVP at the banquet celebration on May 16 as voted by his teammates.
The 133rd Season of football on Eye Street will take place this fall. Look forward to the 100th Game of the Oldest Catholic High School Football Rivalry in the Nation vs St. John's! The game will take place on Buchanan Field on Friday, November 5.
