Kansas City Summer Service Immersion—Enjoy the Photos!

Campus Ministry took 12 rising seniors to Jerusalem Farm, an intentional Catholic community that works to combat urban poverty in Kansas City, Missouri. The trip took place from June 6 to June 11.

During the trip, students lived in community on an urban farm, where they had the chance to learn about urban poverty, sustainable farming, and environmental justice. They also worked on the farm, preparing meals and delivering food to those in need. They were joined by two faculty chaperones, Ms. Maddie Davin and Ms. Penny Lynch.

"We worked alongside students and chaperones from Jesuit Sacramento, farm team members, and the Kansas City homeowners we were serving. The boys learned about simple living, composting, home repair, and climate justice," said Ms. Davin. "The group did a great job working on rebuilding and painting houses, and got to reward themselves with some Kansas City Barbecue at the end of the week."
