Golf Wins Metro Championship

Tuesday, May 17th, Varsity Golf finished in 1st place at the Metro Championships at Worthington Manor Golf Club, defeating Georgetown Prep by 4 strokes 375-379.

This was the 3rd consecutive year that the Eagles have won the Metros.

Josh DiZinno '22 shot a 71 and was Low Medalist for the Tournament.

Here is a list of our next 4 lowest scores.
Jack Hartman '24 - 73
Matt Moloney '24 - 73
Jack Teuschl '23 - 78
Carson Looney '25 - 80

We asked Coach Hanagan '08 his thoughts on winning METROS: "It was a great team win, I felt confident going in. When we arrived at Worthington Manor and I saw how windy it was, I thought any score in the 70s was going to be really impressive. With the 5 scores we kept as a team. the average was a 75 which was an unbelievable score under those conditions."

Coach Hanagan '08 continued: "Coming off the 9th green, I did a rough estimate where we stood compared to Georgetown Prep, I think we were down 8-10 strokes at the turn. We fought really hard on the back 9 to take a 4 stroke victory. A lot of players really battled on the back 9 to give us the win and I am super proud of each and everyone of them."

The Varsity Golf team finished the season with a WCAC and METROS Championship.
