Gonzaga Celebrates Ignatian Heritage Day

On Monday, April 25, the Gonzaga community came together for its annual Ignatian Heritage Day, when we celebrate our Jesuit mission by diving deeper into an aspect of our Ignatian tradition and values. Occurring just a few days after Earth Day, this year's theme was the environment with a series of speakers and activities centered around the protection and renewal of God's creation.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to rotate through different hands-on activities and presentations all focused on the environment -- learning about urban and suburban farming, planting flowers in the courtyard, getting a close-up tour of Gonzaga's system of solar panels, and more.

In addition, alumnus Paul Campion '15 served as the keynote speaker. Part of an organization called the Sunrise Movement, Paul is a climate activist who took part in a hunger strike for climate change outside the White House last year.

We hope you enjoy these photos from the day.
