Prayer for Change by Richard Scott '23

On Friday, May 29, rising sophomore Richard Scott wrote a poem called "Prayer for Change" in response to the murder of George Floyd and the protests and civil unrest that followed.

"In the tradition of American poets like Walt Whitman and Langston Hughes, Richard is looking at the world around him and writing about it in an honest and artful way," says English teacher Mr. Joseph Ross. "It is heartbreaking that a young person would have to write this poem. But it is hopeful that we have brave young poets in our midst."
