Hockey Beats Churchill, Ready to Face Landon

On Wednesday, January 8, 2020, Gonzaga V1 Hockey triumphed in a 5-4 victory over Churchill. 

Churchill scored first with just 3:55 left in the first quarter. Aidan Dwyer '22 got the Eagles on the board to tie it up, but Churchill quickly answered to take the lead again as the first quarter came to an end with a score of 2-1. 

In the second quarter, Colin O'Leary '20 scored, followed up by another Churchill goal, and yet another goal from O'Leary, tying the game at 3-3. Two goals from Jack Norton '21 and Farrell Dinn '20 put the Eagles ahead by two at the end of the second. 

As the teams faced off in the third quarter, Churchill scored again, bringing the score to 5-4, but the Eagles were able to maintain their lead to pull off a 5-4 victory. 

Next up, the V1 Hockey Eagles will face off against Landon tonight at 8 PM at Fort Dupont.
