Back to School!

Students and faculty returned to Eye Street this week for the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Highlights of the week included the opening faculty and staff meeting and luncheon hosted by the Gonzaga Mothers Club, orientations for all students, the New Families Welcome Mass and Picnic, and the first day of classes. During freshmen orientation, the senior class lined both sides of Eye Street, clapping and cheering for the newest Eagles as they walked through campus.

As we do every year, the first day of classes began with the entire community gathering in St. Al's for the Mass of the Holy Spirit. A tradition at Jesuit schools around the world, the Mass of the Holy Spirit is an opportunity for the community to pray for guidance and wisdom as we begin a new academic year. The celebrant this year was Father Pat Nolan, S.J., Gonzaga's new Director of Campus Ministry and Ignatian Identity.

Below are two photo albums from the week -- the first some highlights from orientations and the first day of classes, the second some great shots from the New Families Welcome Mass and Picnic. Gonzaga is looking forward to a great year!
