Soccer beats O'Connell & Ryken, McNamara Up Next

Gonzaga Soccer notched its fourth victory in WCAC play Tuesday, October 4th at Bishop O'Connell. In a sluggish match, the Eagles broke through first when Matt Maier '23 poked the ball in to make it 1-0. In the second half Colin Prendergast '23 converted a penalty to make it 2-0 (see below). Drama would ensue as O'Connell managed to get a goal back and missed a penalty kick late into stoppage time. Final, Gonzaga 2, O'Connell 1.

On Thursday, October 6th, Gonzaga hosted St. Mary's Ryken. The Eagles pulled out another win against a stubborn Knights squad. After a scoreless first half, Colin Prendergast '23 sent a through ball to Daniel Bollman '24 who beat the keeper. Later in the second half Leo Marques da Costa '23 assisted Bollman '24 to make it 2-0.  The match would end that way.

Soccer is now 14-0 on the year and a perfect 5-0 in WCAC play. Next up, the Eagles will host undefeated Bishop McNamara on Tuesday, October 11th in a massive WCAC match. You can find the entire schedule here.

Hail Gonzaga!
