Lacrosse Advances to WCAC Championship

Lacrosse finished the season 13-5 on the year and 7-1 in WCAC play, earning themselves a number two seed in the WCAC Tournament that began earlier this week. On Tuesday, May 3rd, Gonzaga hosted St. Mary’s Ryken for their quarterfinal match and held their Senior Night Ceremony before the game. Head Coach Jeff King's squad handled the Knights from start to finish and defeated Ryken 22-1. Senior Night Ceremonies 2022 (TMC)

On Thursday, May 5th, Gonzaga took on rival DeMatha in the semifinal game under the lights on Buchanan Field. Originally scheduled for Friday, the game was moved up a day to beat the impeding inclement weather. The Eagles played tough defense throughout and defeated DeMatha 8-4. Declan Monahan ‘23 put on a clinic in goal with a total of 21 saves. Here are some great photos from the win:

Next up, Gonzaga will face St. John’s in the WCAC Championship on Monday, May 9th, at University of Maryland, Ludwig Field, 7:00pm.
