Students Participate in Prayer Service and Climate March

On Friday, September 20, a group of Gonzaga students participated in a prayer service and climate march organized by Catholic Charities DC.

Gonzaga students joined other students from Washington-area Catholic schools at a student-led prayer service at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and then marched to the U.S. Capitol, where they joined other students taking part in Global Climate Strike, an international student movement.

“We have been given special dignity and the power of self-awareness to be the conscience and heart of the natural world,” senior Ben Campion said at the prayer service. “This requires living with each other in a reduce, reuse, repair society, instead of a make, take, waste one.”
