Tennis Brings WCAC Trophy Back to Eye Street

Congratulations to the varsity tennis Eagles on winning the 2019 WCAC Championship on Saturday, May 4. “I knew this was a good team but everyone’s gotten so much better from the beginning of the year until now,” senior captain Andy Borman said. “We felt like we didn’t send the seniors off right last year . . . This year we wanted to show the young guys how to win and what it means to play Gonzaga tennis.” Click here to read the complete article from the Washington Post.

The team entered the final day with participants in five of the six singles matches and all three doubles matches; they were leading Good Counsel in team points 25-23. The Eagles finished strong with 40 points to defeat Good Counsel (32 points) and Bishop O’Connell (14 points). Moll (#2), Borman (#3), Foley (#5), and Smolskis (#6) all won their singles matches while the pair of Borman and Smolskis won the #2 doubles title.
