GFC Organizes Father-Son Service Project
On Saturday, February 9, over 60 Gonzaga students and their fathers took part in an all-day service project at St. Francis de Sales Church in Washington, D.C. Organized by the Gonzaga Fathers Club, the project focused on interior and exterior maintenance and beautification of the church campus. Students and their fathers scraped and painted four major interior walls in the church and tackled an additional painting project in the rectory, while others were outside cleaning and grubbing fallen leaves and old vegetation and placing fresh mulch in all of the flowers beds on the church grounds.
“A lot of tasks of lasting value were accomplished and our little parish is again the better for it,” said Rev. Brian P. Sanderfoot, Pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church. “The generous volunteers of the Gonzaga community proved they are indeed Men for Others. Our parishioners are excited and our parish is praying for you."
Special thanks to Gonzaga dad George Bailey for organizing the event, to Mark McFall of McFall and Berry Companies, which provided the mulch for the landscaping projects, and Pat McCormick of McCormick Paints, which provided paint and paint supplies.
