Basketball Comes Back to Beat St. John's

The varsity basketball Eagles trailed St. John's by eight points in the fourth quarter, but the players and coaches did not panic. The Eagles outscored the Cadets 23-12 in the fourth quarter in front of a great crowd. Head Coach Steve Turner encouraged his team to attack the rim rather than settling for jump shots, and that mindset payed off in the end as junior forward Terrance Williams hit two free throws to give the team a three-point lead with just 15 seconds left. "Both of his shots found the bottom of the net, and the No. 8 Eagles scored a significant 56-53 victory on the road," wrote the Washington Post. Click here to read the entire article.
