Cross Country Wins Trial of Miles to Start Season

On September 2nd, Cross Country competed in its first competition of the year, the XC Trials of Miles at Morven Park in Leesburg, Virginia. The Eagles finished in first place, edging out Tuscarora, the local team that was favored to win the meet, and Langley High School.

Congratulations to the following three runners who all finished in the top 10:

Anthony Sarro '26 - 3rd Place - 16:25.7 
Will Buckley '25 - 6th Place - 16:58.7
Matt Podratsky '25 - 8th Place - 17:13.8

"This was a great first meet for the team. The returning varsity runners ran very well, demonstrating that they are in good shape after a summer of training," said Head Coach John Ausema. "Several new varsity runners have trained hard in the off-season as well, and stepped up with great races."
