Forever Gonzaga Bicentennial Campaign Concludes

Dear Members of the Gonzaga Community,

With deep gratitude, I share news of the successful conclusion of the Forever Gonzaga Bicentennial Campaign. I am honored to announce that through a combination of current gifts to capital projects, significant gifts to our endowment, as well as thoughtful estate or planned gifts that Gonzaga will receive in the years to come, we did not just meet our ambitious goal, but surpassed it. Thanks to the enormous generosity of so many members of our Gonzaga community, I am both tremendously heartened and humbled to announce that we raised more than $80 million during this historic campaign!

This campaign has already made so much possible. In a few short years, we have been able to triple our endowment, which will allow us to continue to provide financial assistance to deserving Gonzaga students and their families. Further, it will help us keep Gonzaga competitively affordable. In addition, we have, and will continue to, invest in our faculty and staff, nurture and grow our Jesuit identity, and improve and modernize our unique urban campus. Finally, this campaign has enabled us to continue our planning for future development in all of these areas. 

Of this remarkable fundraising total, more than $35 million comes in the form of future, planned gifts. I’m especially grateful to these donors who, in their estate planning, thought ahead and cared ahead to support future generations of Gonzaga students. Their generosity ensures that this campaign will benefit Gonzaga for decades to come.

Yesterday, when we formally concluded this campaign, it was the culmination of a multi-year effort that was made possible by many, many people, including Father Stephen Planning, S.J. who laid the foundation for the campaign during his tenure as President. To express our gratitude for the unwavering and continued support of our many donors and campaign volunteers, we created a video that I hope both communicates our sincere appreciation, and, equally important, captures the many significant and tangible ways this campaign has, is, and will continue to make a difference here on Eye Street.
