Golf Defeats Georgetown Prep and PVI

The Gonzaga Golf Team had a successful four match week that was highlighted by close wins over Georgetown Prep and Paul VI. On Monday, March 20, in stroke play format against Prep, Gonzaga won by a total score of 190-196. The team average for the 9 hole match was a score of 38 on difficult greens at Norbeck Golf Country Club in Rockville, MD. Here were the individual scores against the Little Hoyas:

Jack Teuschl ‘23 - 37
Jack Hartman ‘24 - 37
Carson Looney ‘25 - 38
Patrick Pritsios ‘24 - 39
Owen Wolak ‘23 - 39 

In the match play league format against Paul VI at Chantilly National Golf & Country Club in Centreville, VA, Gonzaga won 6-3. Every match had at least one point decided on the final hole. Hartman made a clutch par on hole 12 to secure the victory in front of his team.

Teuschl, a team captain, was the low player for the week combining for an even par score across both matches as he shot a 35 in his 9 holes against the Panthers. 

Golf is 6-0 on the year and 4-0 in WCAC play. Next up, the team will will face St. Mary's Ryken at Breton Bay Golf & Country Club in Leonardtown, MD on Tuesday, March 28.
